1. Acknowledgment and Acceptance

By accessing and using the direct.doctor platform (hereinafter "the Platform"), available at www.direct.doctor, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Platform.

Use of the Platform is conditional upon a minimum age of 18 years. By using the services, you declare that you have full legal capacity and that the information provided is correct and complete.

2. General Information

The direct.doctor platform is a digital telemedicine platform operated by DUCES CONSULTING S.R.L., a company registered in Romania, headquartered in Bucharest, Sector 3, Basarabia Street no. 256, Tax ID 25748784, registered at the Trade Register under no. J40/7566/2009 (hereinafter "the Administrator").

The Platform facilitates remote communication between patients and doctors, offering text consultations, audio/video consultations and medical analysis interpretation services.

3. Service Description

The direct.doctor platform offers the following intermediation services in the field of telemedicine:

  • Text consultations — communication via secure chat, valid for 48 hours from doctor acceptance
  • Audio/video consultations — scheduled sessions during doctor-set time slots, conducted via integrated videoconferencing system
  • Medical analysis interpretation — interpretation of laboratory results and medical imaging by specialist doctors
  • Medical document transmission — ability to upload and share medical documents with the attending physician

4. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights to the Platform, including but not limited to: design, source code, the "direct.doctor" trademark, database structure, graphical interface and Platform-generated content belong exclusively to DUCES CONSULTING S.R.L.

Users do not have the right to reproduce, distribute, modify or use Platform content for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of the Administrator. Content may be used exclusively for personal and informational purposes.

5. Links to Other Websites

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by the Administrator. The Administrator has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of third-party sites. Access to these is at the user's own risk.

6. Data Protection

The Platform processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — EU Regulation 2016/679) and applicable national legislation. Complete details regarding the processing of personal data are available in the Privacy Policy.

7. Text Consultations

Text consultations are conducted through a secure chat system integrated into the Platform. By using this service, users understand and accept the following:

  • Doctors' responses are informational and consultative and cannot substitute a physical, specialized medical consultation
  • The doctor provides their professional opinion based on information provided by the patient; response quality depends on the completeness of information presented
  • The Platform does not guarantee doctors' response times
  • Text consultations are valid for 48 hours from the moment of acceptance by the doctor
  • Attaching medical documents (analyses, imaging) may be conditional upon payment of corresponding interpretation services
  • Consultation communications are confidential and protected

8. Intermediation Services

The Platform acts as an intermediary between patients and doctors. Doctors using the Platform are independent professionals, verified by the Administrator through validation of professional documents (medical degree, CMR certificate, practice license, malpractice insurance).

Doctors have complete freedom in formulating medical opinions and in accepting or declining consultations. The Platform does not intervene in the medical act and does not influence medical recommendations.

9. Telemedicine Services

For audio/video consultations, users are responsible for:

  • Ensuring a stable internet connection and necessary devices (camera, microphone)
  • Ensuring a private and adequate environment for the consultation
  • Respecting the scheduled time slot (access is available 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after the established interval)

Audio/video consultations may not be recorded without the consent of both parties. Telemedicine services may not be resold or redistributed to third parties.

10. User Accounts

Patients: Can create an account by providing identification data (name, email, password). The account allows requesting consultations, making payments through the integrated wallet and communicating with doctors.

Doctors: Can create a professional account subject to verification. The account becomes active only after validation of professional documents by the Administrator:

  • Medical degree diploma
  • Romanian College of Physicians (CMR) membership certificate
  • CMR annual practice license
  • Valid malpractice insurance
  • ID card

Users are responsible for the security of their account and access credentials. Any activity conducted through a user's account is considered to be performed by the account holder.

11. Fees and Payments

Patients pay for medical services through the Platform's integrated digital wallet. The wallet can be funded via:

  • Revolut Pay
  • Bank card (Visa, Mastercard)
  • Other payment methods available through the Revolut payment processor

The price of each consultation includes the fee set by the doctor and the Platform commission. A payment processing fee of 5 RON is added to each transaction.

Prices are displayed in RON or EUR, depending on user preference. The Administrator reserves the right to modify platform fees with prior notification to users.

Payment for services is made in advance, by deducting the amount from the patient's digital wallet at the time of consultation request.

12. Refund Policy

Refunds are processed in the following situations:

  • Consultation declined by doctor — the amount is fully refunded to the patient's wallet automatically
  • Account deletion — wallet balance is refunded via the original payment method
  • Technical issues — in case of technical impossibility to provide the service, refund is processed upon request

Refund processing may take between 5 and 10 business days, depending on the payment processor and issuing bank.

13. Platform and Physician Liability Limitations

The Platform acts exclusively as an intermediary and is not responsible for:

  • The quality of medical care provided by doctors
  • The accuracy or completeness of information provided by users
  • Medical decisions made by users based on information received
  • Service interruptions caused by external factors (network issues, service provider outages)
  • Direct or indirect losses resulting from the use or inability to use the Platform

Services are provided "as is." Users understand and accept the risks associated with using telemedicine services. The Administrator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Platform.

Doctors are individually responsible for the medical opinions formulated and for compliance with professional standards of medical practice.

14. Assignment

The Administrator reserves the right to assign, transfer or subcontract all or part of the rights and obligations provided in these Terms and Conditions to any third party, without prior user consent, provided that this does not affect users' rights.

15. Account Deletion

Users can request account deletion from the Platform's settings menu. Upon deletion request:

  • The account will be deactivated immediately (user can no longer log in)
  • A 14-day grace period is granted during which the user can reverse their decision by contacting support
  • After 14 days, personal data will be anonymized according to the Privacy Policy
  • Medical data will be kept in anonymized form in accordance with legal regulations
  • Wallet balance will be refunded via the original payment method

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Romanian law. Any dispute arising from or in connection with the use of the Platform will be resolved amicably. In case of impossibility of amicable resolution, the dispute will be referred to the competent courts in Bucharest, Romania.

17. Terms Modification

DUCES CONSULTING S.R.L. reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Users will be notified through the Platform of any substantial modification. Continued use of the Platform after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
